This is an interesting question because you’d think that all windows are made to measure, but if you buy cheap this might not be the case. A double glazing unit absolutely MUST be measured to the nearest millimetre to ensure that your windows are well fitted and correctly sealed into the wall, and therefore perform to the highest possible energy efficiency standards.
When you meet with one of our dedicated double glazing advisors you will notice their attention to detail. Precise measurements are passed to your nearest manufacturing facility where the measurements are computer controlled to ensure that the glass and the surrounding PVCu casing is absolutely perfect.
Made to measure windows should always be a tight fit , installed with a perfect air tight seal around your brickwork. The unit itself is already factory sealed. A poorly measured and fitted window will let in draughts and any aggressive “banging into place” would probably damage the unit.
